Practitioner Spotlight: Meet Andrea
Are you looking for a practitioner who is kind, compassionate, empathetic and understands the health struggles you’re experiencing?
Andrea’s near encyclopaedic wealth of knowledge combines perfectly with her calm and compassionate nature to deliver an outstanding level of care.
At Dancing Willow Wellness, we pride ourselves on patient-centred care, and Andrea exemplifies this principle. She is always ready to meet patients where they’re at, and use her skills, expertise, and warmth to bring them closer to where they want to be.
Patients feel supported and heard throughout their journey and appreciate her kindness as well as the great results they achieve.
There are four areas that Andrea has additional learning and a special focus in:
Fertility / Infertility
Struggling to conceive when it seems everyone you know is announcing their pregnancy can be especially challenging and often very traumatic. Worse still, you may have been given a diagnosis of “unexplained infertility” or have suffered one or more miscarriages. The grief and loss experienced each month can be incredibly hard. Andrea offers compassion and support through this journey, as well as scientifically proven treatments using acupuncture and holistic nutrition to help give you every opportunity to conceive naturally.
If you’ve already opted for the IUI or IVF route, studies have shown that acupuncture can be extremely effective in supporting both IUI and IVF to allow every opportunity for a successful cycle.
Pregnancy
Pregnancy, while a joyous occasion, often comes with its own unique challenges. Morning sickness, abdominal pain, swelling of hands and/or feet (edema), dizziness, anxiety, gestational diabetes and more are fairly common but don’t have to be accepted as the norm!
There are several ways to support a healthy pregnancy and this is where Andrea comes in. With her wealth of knowledge about Chinese medicine acupuncture and holistic nutrition, she usually has numerous suggestions and treatment options available to help alleviate these symptoms. Her calming presence also helps to alleviate any anxiety you might be feeling and she’s always happy to answer any questions you might have.
Menstrual Issues
More often than not, periods come with a whole host of issues that may leave you feeling like you have a “crappy” period or you loathe getting your period. Know that you’re not alone in this! So many women struggle with symptoms like:
PMS
Moodiness - perhaps feeling irritable, depression, sadness and/or crying for no reason
Cramping (felt in the back and/or abdomen)
Clots
Heavy periods
Long periods (6+ days)
Early, late and/or irregular periods
Bleeding or spotting between periods
Breast distension and/or pain
Bloating or temporary weight gain of 3+ pounds
Fatigue
Migraines
Acne
And more!
Chinese medicine acupuncture has been proven to be very effective in treating many of these symptoms. As a result of Andrea’s passion for helping those struggling with fertility and infertility, she’s gained a lot of knowledge in using acupuncture and holistic nutrition to treat all of these symptoms. She’s worked with younger patients who are trying to regulate their periods without using hormonal birth control right through to older patients struggling with peri-menopause and menopause. Regardless of your age, you don’t have to feel like you don’t have options when it comes to your period.
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
Struggling with not being able to get to a bathroom in time and experiencing diarrhea, or struggling with constipation can be frustrating to say the least! Andrea’s knowledge of Chinese medicine acupuncture and holistic nutrition creates a unique combination for helping your body work towards balance and health. It may not be dinner table conversation, but here at Dancing Willow Wellness, patients are often excited to talk about their bathroom habits, and the positive changes they see!
